Laura has spent over 18 years in the aerospace industry working in a wide variety of activities and sectors including research and development, new product certification and manufacturing. In her current role at Avcorp Industries, Laura is responsible for exploring advanced technologies in simulation and automation to optimize production efficiencies and mitigate risk in the aircraft manufacturing and production environment.
As part of Avcorp’s longer-term advanced composites manufacturing strategy, Laura is a key member of the team for development of Avcorp’s Learning Factory (LF) and Learning Factory Digital Twin (LFDT) project. The LF will merge full-scale industrial production lines producing
complex aircraft parts with cutting-edge research and training at University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Innovation Precinct in Kelowna, BC.
Laura’s newest opportunity is collaborating with Canada’s Digital Technology Supercluster to develop digital solutions that unlock the potential of data in the era of the intelligent enterprise and align with Avcorp’s strategic focus on advanced manufacturing technologies.
